Donna Cash Fawcett
Donna Cash Fawcett, 90 years old, passed away after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Davis Cash and Myrtle Sarah Cash, husband John Thomas Fawcett, and siblings Gloria Motis, Sonia Browning, and (Ira) Richard Cash. Donna is survived by two children Robin Edward Fawcett and Penny Fawcett Chou, their spouses Heng Hui Lee and Hugh Chou, and three grandchildren Ari Chou, David Chou, and Hannah Fawcett.
Donna was born during the Great Depression and spent her childhood in Diamond, West Virginia. One of her proudest moments was when she graduated as valedictorian of DuPont High School class of 1947. She met the love of her life at Sims’ Skating Rink in Belle WV. They were joined in marriage at the Belle Church of the Nazarene. As newlyweds they lived in a small apartment in Belle and later built a home on Witcher Road where they lived most of their life. Early in her career she worked for the telephone company and later in the payroll department for the State of West Virginia. Donna was a good wife, mother and daughter. She took care of both of her parents for many years as well of taking care of her husband as he battled cancer.
After her husband John passed in 1991, she moved to St. Louis, MO to live near her daughter Penny and only grandchild Ari at the time. Donna loved dancing and was active in ballroom dancing and country line dancing. She fulfilled her dream of traveling the world including trips to Ireland, England, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Hawaii, and many parts of the continental U.S. Her ashes were laid to rest beside her husband at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens in Cross Lanes, WV. (1929 – 2020).
