James Curtis Ward

Ward, James Curtis born in St. Louis, MO on March 9, 1940, passed away Friday, May 8, 2020 peacefully in his home at age 80. Jim was a carpet layer and a member of Union 1310. He loved spending time with his wife Ginny, and the rest of his family. Jim was passionate about sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues, and Mizzou Basketball. He loved dogs, always had a four legged companion throughout his life, and was involved in numerous dog rescue initiatives. Jim really enjoyed the Florida sunshine in the winter months. He was very involved in St. Francis of Assisi parish where he raised his family. He coached baseball and attended endless soccer games. There were always backyard activities including whiffle ball, playing catch, shooting baskets, and many more. The family always had a pool in the backyard and took an annual vacation to Florida. Jim was a gentle person and will be greatly missed.

Jim is preceded in death by his son Steven Ward, mother Sylvia Ward, father Lee Ward, wife Karen Ward (nee Meyer), brother Gerry (Phyllis), and brother George. He is survived by his wife Ginny, his brother Gene (Pat), sons Mike (Kim) and Jeff (Amy), daughter-in-law Danielle (Steve deceased), step daughters Gina Brendley (Tim) and Cynthia Wilkins (Tim), his grandchildren Katie Lineberry (Steve), Kelly Paige (Hunter), Karen “Nikki” Ward (fiancé Misco) , Adam Ward (fiancé Nadia), Lauren Bazzoli (Andrea), Caitlin McCracken (Carter), Kristina Brendley, Matthew Brendley, Christina Wilkins, Justin Wilkins (Hayley), Jessica Wilkins, numerous nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and other extended family members.

Services: Funeral at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 9470 Sappington Rd., St. Louis, MO 63128, Saturday May 23, 2020, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Protective Association Of Missouri (APAMO.org).

    To Ginny, Mike and Jeff I am so sorry for your lose. I didn’t get to see Jim much but when I did he always had a smile and a friendly hand shake, he was a good man and he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are there for all of you.

    Ginny, Mike, Jeff and family. Bruce and I are so sorry for your loss. Jim and Ginny have been great neighbors and friends. Jim was always so happy and never complained about anything! He always made us laugh. We will miss him terribly and all the great times we got together. Take care Ginny. We love you!????????????
