On June 27, 2020, Samuel Emmett Hargadine IV died at home with his loving wife, Regina at his side in Saint Louis Missouri. He was born on June 5th, 1930 to Samuel E. Hargadine III and Viola Bell Cox Hargadine at Pike County Hospital, Louisiana, Missouri. He graduated from Bowling Green High School Class of 1948 and went on to the University of Missouri at Columbia where he graduated in 1953 with a major in Psychology. He served honorably in the U.S. Army in the Intelligence Division during the Korean War. After the war, he returned to the University of Missouri where he obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering. He married Georganna Myers, August 25, 1957, and had two sons Samuel E. Hargadine V and John E. Hargadine. While impossible to convey in a brief tribute, know he was a true renaissance man and experienced a distinguished career in government service where he lived all over the world throughout his career.

He married Regina Mandour, February 11, 1994, in Bisbee, Arizona. He then taught computer science courses for the Cochise Community College in Sierra Vista, Arizona.

Sam was an avid pilot for most of his adult life achieving commercial, instrument, and multi-engine ratings. He was raised in a musical home and instructed by his mother who was a concert pianist and instructor. During his lifelong love of swing and jazz, he mastered the clarinet and saxophone. Sam played in and organized jazz bands in the St. Louis area up until his later years. For a brief period, he was also a DJ in St. Louis after college which was his true passion. In addition to his love of music, Sam loved the game of Bridge and earned the Life Master designation for tournament play.

Survived by his wife Regina, sons Samuel and daughter-in-law Annette of Hallsville, Missouri, and John and daughter-in-law Mary of Saint Paul, Missouri. Three Grandchildren, Calvin Hargadine (Amber) of Honolulu, Hawaii, Samuel Hargadine VI of Grand Baie, Mauritius, and Mitchell (Jenna) of Charlotte, North Carolina. Five Great Grandchildren, Logan, Adam, Carter, Lucas, and Mya Hargadine.

Sam was a diehard fan of the Washington Redskins and a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Regina and Sam divided their time living in Tempe, Arizona, Puerto Penasco, Mexico, and St. Louis where they enjoyed socializing with their many dear friends and family.
