Patricia Ann Short

Patricia Ann Short, daughter of the late Donald and Audrey Short and sister to the late Robert Short passed from death to new life on Sunday, June 28, 2020. Patti, as her friends called her, was 70 years of age.

Patti grew up in Saint Ann, Missouri and graduated from Pattonville Highschool. Later in life, Patti worked for CPC Logistics as a Benefits Specialist, from January 21, 1988 until her retirement in 2019. Patti found her greatest joy in family and friends, a love for cooking, and spent time reading recipes like they were a work of literary genius. Patti is survived by her brother Daniel and his wife Connie, her brother Bryan and his wife Deborah, and her sister-in-law Maureen. Patricia is also survived by her nieces and nephews whom she treated as her own; Justin Short and wife Rebecca, Jennifer Short and husband James, Jeffrey Short, Rob Scott, Ian Short, Colin Short, Reese Short, Rowan Short, and Truman Short; these will forever remember Patti fondly as Aunt T-T.

Given these uncertain times and during the Covid-19 pandemic, the family looks to those who loved Patti best to honor her life in a way that is befitting for them. If Covid-19 cases improve soon, the family will announce plans for a public celebration.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Redemption Ranch, 77 Redemption Road, Winfield, MO 63389 or Thrive St. Louis, 4331 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63108.

I will miss you deeply my lifelong friend. We met when we were tiny infants and remained best friends to the end. We had so much and escapades, some stories I will take to the grave. Spent our youth at the Wesleyan Chapel on bible quiz teams and Camp Lee in the summer. We would change the P & R at our high schools. Went on to MWC where the good times continued. Buried our parents and brothers. Fly high Patti and I will see you on the other side to continue our laughter and good times!

We met at MWC. It took awhile to get to know each other. But in the end we learned to love each other. It was a love that I felt all my life when thinking of my friend Patti. I had looked so forward to seeing you soon. It wasnt to be. We had a wonderful time in College, what a hoot you were! What times we all had! Memories I will always cherish until we meet again my friend. Know that you were loved by many!
As Cindy said “Fly High Patti until we meet again “

Patti and I were best high school friends. We grew up in the same neighbor hood and we had fun times with her grandmother that lived next door to me.
We lived together for a year then moved on our separate ways. I did think of her often. She has gone home to God now, peace is with you Patti.

I came to know Patti through consulting work at CPC Logistics. She was an absolute dear with the very best heart. Aunt T-T’s face would light up when she spoke of the nephews, nieces and their children. She treasured you all and truly loved you all as her own; you brought her immense joy! We often talked about her trips to Gulf Shores and books. She provided many great book recommendations over the years. Patti was so supportive when my Godson was born prematurely and continued to check in on him over the years (he is 11 years old now).

My heart is heavy yet I know she is in heaven! Thoughts and prayers to the family.

Patti and I became friends at Miltonvale Wesleyan College. We only knew each other face to face for two years, but she was the type person that one considered a lifelong friend. I was hoping to see her at a MWC reunion sometime. She was happy, caring, funny, could belch while talking the longest of anyone I knew. We laughed, cried and shared life for such a short time but that filled a lifetime. Will miss you Short! May God comfort your family, especially the nieces and nephews that will find you left an emptiness that can’t be filled.

I will dearly miss you. Though we have not spoken for a while, we were close when we were growing up and thereafter. You were once my girlfriend. We had some wonderful times together and I will never forget you. You were special. Peace to Danny and Brian.
