Deborah Ann Riley

Deborah Ann Riley (nee Kincaid) gave her last breath and was called Home on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, and is now in Heaven with those who proceeded her and greeted her upon her arrival, pets included. She was born November 25, 1954, to Charles and Zita Kincaid, who proceeded her in death.

Debbie is survived by her loving husband Denis/Denny of St. Peters, MO, her son Shawn (Keri) Riley of O’Fallon, MO, her daughter Brittany (Joshua) Linderer of Festus, MO and 7 “wickedly delicious” grandchildren she was devoted to Londyn, MaKenna, Cheyenne, Brooklyn, Asher, Isaac, and Ireland. Loving sister of Charles/Chuck Kincaid who proceeded her in death, Cynthia/Cindy Hartrum and Randall/Randy Kincaid. Beloved Sister-in-Law, Aunt, Great Aunt, and a good friend to many.

Debbie graduated from Hazelwood High School in 1973 and went on to become an L.P.N. She and Denny met in 1975, married in 1980, and started their family together in 1982. She felt more comfortable raising their children and began watching others’ precious gifts as well, which she did with great care up until the end and kept in touch with many of the families well after the children left her loving care.

She was known as Yaya to her 7 grandchildren and numerous children in her care over the years. She was a fun Yaya and always had activities and artistic projects for them to do. She will be fondly remembered and missed by all and her two newest grandbabies will know about their Yaya from their G-pa, parents, brothers & sisters, aunts & uncles, cousins, and her friends.

Debbie was a free spirit who enjoyed life and good lasting friendships. She had an eye for “pretties” which occupy the walls and shelves of her home, and it is a home, not just a house. She made sure everyone who entered was welcomed and felt the love of home. She had a very creative mind and could transform any area with a touch of her creativity into something to behold. She had a love of music and enjoyed a good party. Debbie enjoyed traveling throughout the country and Canada with Denny by motorcycle for many years and was looking forward to doing so again. Her Hippie Porch and peaceful Zen-like patio will carry on and continue to grow, just as she would want.

Debbie’s love, compassion for others, and her company will be sorely missed, but we know her presence lives on in us. She was “Whiskey in a teacup” and lived her motto of “Just Be Kind”.

In lieu of flowers, we respectfully request you to please donate to a charity of your choice, in her memory.

Services: A Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020, from 9:00 – 10:00 am with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Masks are required, please.

You were the “free spirit” we all strive to be! Your Yaya stories and the positive way you saw our world are missed everyday.
Denny and family, Debbie was a warrior in her fight against the injustices caused by the irresponsibility and commercial greed around Coldwater Creek and Westlake Landfill. She helped us on many occasions. You can be proud of her contributions!
    My sincere condolences,

Thank you for making the world a brighter place for those who knew you. My favorite quote of yours is “no rain,no flowers”. You’re out of the rain and living with eternal flowers now.
May God grant you eternal peace and endless joy Ya Ya.

Debbie was a wonderful, warm, gentle soul who took great care of our son Ronnie (he was her first St. Peters/O’Fallon baby that she took care of after moving here in ’90) and she went on to take care of so many more! Including our great grand-daughter Amelia, a micro-preemie, her last baby to care for and I know for certain where Debbie is today, enjoying her heavenly home with her loved ones, in a room decorated with trinkets and wind chimes and beauty only God can give! Love and Prayers to the Riley Family. Our Deepest Sympathy to you all.

I have had the please of knowing Debbie through her husband so I felt close to her in spirit. All the many stories told were always nice and could make you smile/laugh. I would say to myself I would love to be in love like they are agree to disagree and keep it moving. my prayer is that the Family stay close to Denny and family for they are going to need you in the days to come .
May God Bless and keep you all.
    Peace and Love

Memories of Debbie are like yesterday to me. Unfortunately, I missed the adult years but can honestly say our teen years were fun and memorable. I wouldn’t have traded them for the world. Partners in crime were myself, Sally and Donna (sometimes). Just wish I would have made it back to St. Louis sooner.

I’ve known Debbie and her family since the 60s. Loved her like an extension of our family. She will truly be missed and I will always cherish the memories and the discussions we had about life, goals, and our love for classic rock and roll. Love you sister, Rest now you beautiful (inside and out) Angle!
