Mr. Robert “Bob” Lake was born January 23, 1945 in Saint Louis, Missouri. He was the son of Harry Ellis Lake and Grace McClure. Bob was educated in the Ohio Public School System. The interest in mechanics and real estate would become his way of life. Bob was always a joy when you saw him. He had a charming smile that would win anyone over. His
sense of humor that would turn any bad day into a good one. Bob had a thing about someone sitting on the side of him because he wanted to watch Sanford & Sons or cowboy movies. One would have to pay attention while sitting because he would whisper his favorite line: “Is my dinner ready?”. Growing up, his sisters will tell you he was a handful to deal with. Bob was always into fashion, sports, riding motorcycles, fishing, telling women they were pretty and bringing life to any room he was in. On July 17, 1965 he married the love of his life and best friend, Dorothy. He quietly departed this life Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Ellis Lake and mother, Grace McClure.

“Bob” leaves to cherish many wonderful memories: his loving and devoted wife, Dorothy Lee Lake; two sons, Vance and Robert Lake; one daughter in law, Terri; brothers, Jimmie (Janice) Moore of Saint Louis, Missouri, William (Donna) Moore of Colorado; brothers-in-laws, Robert Moore of Madrid, Spain and David (Katya) Moore of Portland, Oregon; sisters, Marie (Wayne) Bass of Odessa, Missouri, Victoria Perry of Blue Springs, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Maria (Alan) Terry of Sacramento, California, Jacqueline (Darren) Sligar of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and Susana (Jesus) Nebot of Los Angeles, California; six grandchildren, Vantrish, Ebony (Corey), Candice (Joshua) Wallace, Vance (Jaianni), Danielle, David; four great grandchildren, Nilaja, Nadia, Christopher and Chase; a host of devoted aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Old Man, you left me beautiful memories. Your love is still my guide and though I cannot see you, you are always at my side. You will be deeply missed. I love you every day and now I will miss you every day. Dorothy

The love a grandfather gives is priceless. Memories sneak out of my eyes and roll down my cheeks. Even though I was not ready, I know you are resting peacefully and not suffering anymore. I wanted to see you again, to say goodbye the way I wanted. Then I realized if I got my way, I would never say goodbye. I will keep with me the memories of us and how lucky I have been to have a Grandpa like you. You will be missed! -David
