Peter Bogle

In remembrance of Peter Bogle, October 5, 1936 – August 9, 2020. Beloved husband of Cheryl. Loving father of Thomas (Lisa) Bogle and step-father to the late step-children Christopher and Tricia Lemay. Caring grandfather to Sarah and step-grandfather to Alexis Harris, Cody and Noah Lemay. Proud uncle of Laurie (John) Westfall, Mary Margaret (William) Malzahn, Thomas (Kathy) Keating and Henry Bogle. Loving step-great-grandfather to Brayden and Averie Lemay. Caring brother of his late brother and sister, David and Sue Bogle.

Peter was a lover of the water and sailed the Great Lakes for more than 25 years. During his lifetime Peter enjoyed membership at the Grosse Pointe Club, Bayview Yacht Club, Birmingham Athletic Club, the Detroit Racquet Club and the Balboa Bay Club. Peter attended Williams College in Williamstown, MA for his undergraduate studies and then went to the University of Michigan for graduate school in Ann Arbor, MI.

During his career Peter spent over 20 years as a CPA with Arthur Anderson in Detroit, MI. He then ventured on to Bendix Corp in Southfield, MI where he worked until the take-over of Bendix. He then went on to work for Darcy McManus in Bloomfield, MI. In 1984 Peter received a wonderful opportunity to move to Boulder, CO and work for Storage Technology in Louisville, CO but unfortunately that was short lived due to a company bankruptcy. Following his boss, a fellow Michigander, he then moved to St. Louis to work for Ralston Purina. Peter’s final employer was Smurfit-Stone where he retired at age 72.

A Memorial Service will be planned in the near future, due to covid…

In honor of Peter, the family requests that any donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Phone (800) 478-5833 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, donors@stjude.org.
