Elizabeth Boeser

8/8/53 – 9/9/20

Elizabeth Suzann Boeser passed away on September 9, 2020 at the age of 67. She found peace from a long battle with kidney disease and other medical problems.

Liz, as she was known to most, was born to Roy and Valeria Boeser in St. Louis, MO on August 8, 1953. She grew up as the second youngest of 4 children. While attending Cleveland High School, she cheered with the Pep Squad and sang with the Mixed Chorus. She received her general studies Associates Degree through college coursework at Harris Stowe Teacher’s College and St. Louis Community College. Liz worked at Barnes Jewish Hospital as an ambulatory care receptionist for over 30 years.

Her greatest joy in life came from the people she loved most. She had an amazing group of lifelong friends. Her grandchildren never failed to put a smile on her face. The amount of pride she had for her son, Brian, can barely be put into words. She nurtured her artistic side by regularly making crafts at her assisted living home. An avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, Liz also enjoyed playing volleyball and swimming in her younger days. Her family and friends will miss her daily Facebook posts. She delighted in sharing pictures of her family, funny videos, and words encouraging compassion towards others. Her sweet and thoughtful spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Liz is survived by her son, Brian, daughter-in-law, Carmen, grandchildren, Ruby and Flora, and several cousins. She joins her parents and siblings Joann, William, and Richard in eternal rest. In keeping with her loving heart, Liz chose to be an organ and tissue donor. A private celebration of life service will be held on October 3, 2020 at Sylvan Springs Park near Jefferson Barracks. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to celebrate her life, please donate to the United Way.

We met in 1967 as a Freshman at Cleveland High School through our mutual friend Karen Templeton. From that day, we were friends. She was a quiet person that loved excitement and loved people. Her memory of her life and our friendship was exceptional and sometimes left me thinking, “Did we really do that”.
She looked forward to high school graduation, but was unable to attend due to her unexpected illness that lasted her lifetime.
She dreamed of being a teacher and received a degree from Harris Stowe Teachers College, but was unable to fulfill her dream due to her illness. She worked at Barnes Hospital as a Clerk in the Emergency Department for over 30 years.
I will always remember the dances, the parties, the illnesses, the births of our children, and all the events and vacations during our long friendship. From St. Louis Cardinal baseball games; Sonny and Cher at the Muny; Bob Hope and Elton John at the VP Fair; visiting Elvis’ home in Memphis; visiting a friend in Mississippi, she was always eager for a new experience. In 2014 when St. Louis celebrated their 250th anniversary, she wanted to find all the cakes around the City and County so we took an expedition and found about 50 of them. Unfortunately, the pictures of these did not survive our flip phones.
When her son met Carmen, got engaged and married, she hoped she would be a grandmother soon. They blessed her with two beautiful granddaughters Ruby and Flora, whom she loved with all her heart. Brian gave her a tablet which gave her the ability to take her own pictures and because of Facebook she was able to connect to friends from both grade school, middle school, high school and college, as well as her family members from Illinois and Missouri.
She rarely forgot an acquaintance/friend. She will be greatly missed but has joined her family and friends watching over her loved ones and I am sure still praying for goodness in all people.
    Love you friend/sister.
    Pam Stone Valenti
