She enjoyed life and was happiest when she was in the company of her 3 girls, son-in-laws, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved a party, especially the many parties given thru the years that her “girls” put on to celebrate “her”. She knew she was loved and special to us. Activities she enjoyed thru the years include boating, bowling, bridge, bunko, fishing, golfing, RV camping… all of which there were a gathering of family or friends. Barbara is survived by 3 daughters whom were the light of her world, she loved dearly and was so very proud of Jonel (Tom) Rosemann, Dana (Chuck) Hoffmann, and Karen Folkemer. She also had 5 grandchildren she was so very proud of Todd Rosemann, Jarod Rosemann, Amber Webb, Sean Hoffmann, and Kyle Hoffmann that no matter how she felt they would light up her day with a big smile when they came into the room. She had 4 great-grandchildren who she dearly loved and brought smiles to her face Anakin, Savannah, Alister, and Greyson. She had 5 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by both parents and siblings. Barbara had proudly made the decision to donate her body to the Washington University Donor Program for research. Her wishes were granted and she was accepted.

A private Memorial Service was held for immediate family only.

The family of Barbara would like to recognize and thank the amazing Hospice CareWorkers at Loving Hands Hospice for the tiring and extremely loving care that they gave to our Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma. They treated her like family and gave immense support to Karen, of which we are so grateful.

“Mother”, you gave us life. Mom, you were the best “Mother” I (we) could have ever asked for. Your loving heart and hands, brought me (us) through life. I can still hear the echo of your sound, and caring words, when I needed it, just even the sound of your voice made my heart melt, it gave me a certain calmness, when I heard your voice at the other end of the phone, saying “Dana?” ,, yes, Mom, it’s me. Your touch, you had the softest skin. You were such a strong woman, you gave me the strength to know I could do things, I didn’t think I could do, or try to do. We knew this day would come, we never wanted it to come, and to “let go” of you was the hardest day on this earth. The Lord knew, it was definitely your time, no more suffering, you endured so much pain for years, it wasn’t supposed to be like that, it wasn’t fair for you, to live like that, to see our Mother, endure what you did, was never what we would have ever wanted, for our beautiful, and loving Mother. It has always been “us girls”, that included you, us four girls, and now, it’s three, to carry on. Of course, it will never be the same without you, I feel this empty void right now, that doesn’t feel quite right, that you’re not here sitting with us or talking with us, or laughing with us, but we know you’re there listening to our chatter, and feeling your closeness. You gave us girls, the greatest gift on the day you left this world, kissed by an ANGEL (that was you), you managed to put your lips together, you gave your final kiss goodbye, I will hold that deep in my heart, forever, until the day I die, and join you once again. Don’t worry about us “girls” or your family, as you know we are always looking out for each other, and always will. Our children, Grandchildren, could always feel your love, you set the foundation, that is what family and life is, love and caring for each other, and should always be, now it’s up to us, them to carry on, family is everything. We miss you Mom. There is not a moment or day, I don’t think about you. Merry Christmas in heaven, Mom, our very 1st Christmas without you. Your love carries on forever, and ever. You are in heaven, Mom, you’re our own personal guardian Angel. Sending you extra love and hugs on this particular day. Give us a sign. Ox’s
