Raymond Joseph Moore III
Born August 11th, 1946 in Hammond, Indiana to Raymond and Lorraine Moore, Joe was the second of five children.
In January of 1965, he married his longtime sweetheart, Cheryl Elaine. Together, they have four daughters: Claire Ellen, Carrie Cathlene, Cynthia Jane, and Christen Gray.
Mr. Moore spent much of his career with Ford Motor Company, beginning in 1966 and retiring as a supervisor in 2001. He graduated from Webster University in 1990 and attended both Christian Brothers College and Cleveland High School in Saint Louis, MO.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, their four daughters, seven grandchildren (Jacob, Clay, LaRita, Carson, Harper, Grayson, and Caris), a great-grandchild (Logan), his brother Thomas, sisters Mary and Lorraine, and a large community of family and friends. Joe is preceded in passing by his sister, Dorothy.
Joe was a passionate collector, accomplished competitive cyclist, motor-enthusiast, hobbyist (most notably guitarist and drummer), and family man. He was most proud of his role as “Pawpaw.” We are grateful that he is at peace though we know his shoes can never be filled.
There are no immediate services being held but memorials may be made to Stray Rescue of Saint Louis in Mr. Moore’s honor. Joe and Elaine rescued countless pets in their time together and would love to commemorate his life accordingly.

I have the best memories of Mr Moore. He was always making a funny wise crack, giving rides on his motorcycle, taking pictures or doting on Mrs Moore.
I know he and my dad are sharing a good joke and having a good laugh again.

We remember him with much love and laughter deep in our hearts. Joe was a special family member, particularly to our immediate family of Harold & Gwendolyn Steward. I will always remember how caring he was with my father Harold (H.A,) in the latter part of his life. Joe was able to reach through our father’s dementia, to calm him, make him laugh and bring H.A. back from the darkness, if not but for short moments of time. He did this with such patience and we will never forget his kindness and empathy towards our family. He showed his caring ways towards his girls (LaRita and Kayce), one summer. They were in the giggly girly teenager hood of life, and quite a handful, restless and bored. The good PawPaw as he was, would throw them in the car and off they would go to the mall, bookstore, movies, ice cream, etc. He spoiled them rotten, but made them so happy and carefree. He said “that is my job, spoil them rotten, then send them home!” I never remember a time spent in his presence that I didn’t have an ache in my stomach from belly laughing so hard at one storytelling or another. He was perfection at storytelling, jokes and just being Joe Moore. He will be forever missed but NEVER forgotten, may he be Resting In Peace. God Bless his soul and that of his beloved family.
