Thomas Ward McCool Sr.

Thomas Ward McCool Sr., age 88, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 18, 2021. Tom was born on October 30, 1932, to Jonathan G. McCool and Beatrice M. McCool (nee Johnston). He served in the United States Army and was a proud veteran of the Korean War. He was the owner /operator of Maplewood Express and Specialized Delivery Services. He later worked part-time for Al’s Automotive. Tom loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed bowling and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Jack, Linwood, and David, and his beloved companion of many years Angelita (Angie) Crespo. He is survived by his daughters Debbie Ferry, Sandy (Brent) Kemp and son Thomas (Cathy) McCool; his grandchildren Margie (Brett) Tidwell, Mark Ferry, Katie (Chet) Hileman, Matthew (Kaniz) Kemp, Mark Schaeffer, Andie Byrd, and Shannon Chambers; his great-grandchildren Milo and Hayes Hileman, Brent and Cody Kemp, Lanie and Lucas Byrd, John, Gage, and Bella Hilburn, and Gavin and Hayden Schaeffer. He is also survived by his former wife Margie Batson who remained his good friend until the very end, many nieces and nephews, Angie’s children, grandchildren and sisters, and his beloved dog Peewee.

Tom will always be remembered for his kind heart and sense of humor. He will be missed by all of us that loved him.

A graveside memorial at Jefferson Barracks and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
