Some people call him Coach but to me he was always brother Fred. Even though I haven’t talked to him since 1953Even though I haven’t talked to him since 1953,, I always thought he was such a great guy and he held a warm place in my heart . I met him when he taught me Latin in my freshman year at St. Mary’s high and I thought of him every time I drove by the street name Fuchs. It makes me happy to know he’s happy in heaven now. With love, from his 85-year-old student, Tom Haegele .
