John P. Muller

John P. Muller went to eternal rest Monday, January 2, 2023. Loving husband of Suzy Elsa (nee Fischbacher); father of Douglas (Yasemin); devoted grandfather of Christopher, Michael, and Steven; and friend to many.

John (JP, JeanPi) was preceded in death by his wife Suzy; parents, Ewald and Irma Muller; sister Jacqueline; and brother Albert (Beps).

Born in Switzerland John emigrated to the United States in 1953 and proudly received citizenship in 1991. John spent the last 35 years of his life in St Louis thriving in retirement and enjoying many travels with Suzy and friends. He also researched and wrote a history of the Muller family dating back to the early 1800s.

John was an avid bridge player and swimmer who loved the annual family gathering on Long Beach Island, NJ where Rummikub and jigsaw puzzles made for jovial evenings after days of surf and sun. Earlier in life he was passionate about tennis and long hikes (preferably in the mountains).

He is deeply missed by all he touched and will be remembered for his whimsical smile and sparkling blue eyes.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Bonhomme Presbyterian Church www.bonpres.org/give or Mercy Health Foundation www.mercyhealthfoundation.net

John was a talented soybean trader for Bunge North America for many, many years in New York City and St. Louis. He was known for being modest, meticulous, private and loyal in a business where many of those traits were not always present. I feel privileged to have worked with John and send his family my heartfelt sympathy.

John was a great member of the Cedar Springs Community, he always volunteered his time and was everpresent at our meetings, with his calm demeanor and sharing his highly regarded insight. He will be greatly missed.
