Walter Charles Glanz

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Walter Charles Glanz, lovingly known as Wally, who passed away on November 3rd, 2024, at the age of 76. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend.

Walter was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on February 7, 1948, and was the beloved son of the late Edward and Betty Glanz and was preceded in death by his brother, William Glanz. He is survived by his dear brother, Tim Glanz, and Tim’s wife, Connie.

Walter served his country proudly as a member of the United States Army. He loved spending time with family and friends, playing golf, spending time with his dog, Teddy, and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals.

Walter shared 32 years of marriage with his wife, Karen Glanz, whom he married on December 8, 1992, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a loving father to his children: Melissa Glanz and Robert Glanz (Emily), and a caring stepfather to Lora Gardner, Sheryl Goff, and Aaron Goff (Davina). Walter’s legacy continues through his treasured grandchildren: Lucy Edington Glanz, Betty Glanz, Pamela Goff, Matthew Goff, Ryan Gardner, Hannah Gardner, Mason Goff, and Isabella (Bella) Goff, as well as his great-grandchildren, Conner Goff and Lily Goff.

A memorial service to celebrate Walter’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 26th, at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, located at 6518 Michigan Ave, St. Louis, MO 63111. Following the service, we will honor his military service at Jefferson Barracks Memorial Cemetery at 2:00 pm.

Walter was the life of the party and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
