Robert (Bob) Delair

Robert Delair (Bob, Bobby,Uncle Bob and UB) was born in Waterford, New York, onApril 23,
1942, and sadly passed at the age of 83 in St. Louis, Missouri, on June 19, 2025.

Bob lived a full life of character, humor, and compassion for others. He proudly served in theU.S.
Army during the Vietnam War, returning home with stories, perspective, and a steady
resilience that would shape the rest of his life. Although he had been through some serious
things, Bob never lost his sense of humor—he had a sharp wit and a special way of making people
laugh.

Robert is survived by his wife of 47 years, Eileen Delair, his best friend, who shared his love and
laughter for many decades. He will be deeply remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews,
extended family and friends, all of whom have countless stories of his jokes, his quiet support,
and his signature one-liners.

Bob loved life and did many things. One thing was, he loved watching women’s basketball and
he could talk about the game for hours, usually with a funny comment ready, even when his
team wasn’t doing so great. To his youngest nephew Collin, he always said to keep it simple,
remember the fundamentals, and keep your head up. Simple game reminders that also serve as
life lessons for everyone to remember.

Bob’s creativity shone through in the amazing poetry he wrote some being heartfelt, funny or
as simple as blessing a person with the meaning of their name.He had a kind heart and knew
how to make a person feel comfortable. He could bring calm to a room or crack a joke that broke

the silence. He lived simply, loved deeply, and laughed often—and that’s how he’ll be
remembered.

An honorable memorial service will be held on Friday,July 18, at10:30 am atJefferson Barracks
Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered in tribute to his faithful service to the nation. All
are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of a truly wonderful man. Immediately following

Thank you, Bob/Uncle Bob, for your service, your love, and your witty humor. Rest in Peace and
know you will be remembered as a man full of love.
