Arlo Gittings
Arlo Dean Gittings, Jr, 59, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away Turesday, December 21, 2010 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dean was born August, 9, 1951 in Jackson, Michigan. Dean’s parents were Cora Frances and Arlo Dean Gittings, Sr. He was the eldest of 9 sibilings. Dean was in the U.S. Navy for 8 years. He also graduated from the Memphis School of Preaching in 1980, after graduating he was a preacher for 28 years.
Dean is survived by 3 children: Tabbetha Jones and her husband James, of Dimmitt, TX.; Arlo Dean Gittings, III of St. Louis, MO; and Anne Steel and her husband Brett, of Ortonville, MI. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Trinten Patten, James Jones, Zackery Patten, Jenna Jones, Jayna Jones, Nicholas Patten, Katie Steel, and Gage Steel. He is also survived by 5 siblings: Cora Colby of Springfield, MO; Judy Sommers of Denver, CO; Sandy Frye of Springfield, MO; Jane Dennis of Marshfield, MO; and Matthew Gittings of Crane, MO. He is also survived by 19 neices and nephews.
Dean was preceeded in death by his wife Carol Gittings, and his parents Cora Frances and Arlo Dean Gittings, Sr. Three of his siblings also preceeded him: Lucrecia Gittings; Thomas Gittings; and Joel Gittings.
Dean’s memorial service will be Thursday, December 23, 2010. It will be held 10 A.M. at the Collinsville Church of Christ in Collinsville, IL. Dean will be buried at sea during the next deployment of an U.S. Naval ship from Jacksonville, FL.
In lieu of flowers we are asking that memorials be made to the Memphis School of Preaching, Memphis, TN, or Toys for Tots.
