Elisabeth Malolepszy

Loving wife of Dietrich Malolepszy, devoted & loving mother to K. Michael Malolepszy, Bettina (Clyde) Woolbright and Carolyn McCosh. Loving grandmother to Heather, Ryan, and John Woolbright. Sister-in-law to Gunter and Inge Malolepszy, Donald and the late Helga Kelly, and Anke (Willy) Kreischer. Wonderful aunt to Uwe, Thomas and Heike Malolepszy and Tom Kelly. Cousin to Regina Greip, Gitta & Ludwig Buehler, and Inge Bishoff.

Elisabeth cherished her friendships with Erwin and Jutta Strohmeyer, Giovanni, and Irmy Freguia and so many other special people that shared happy times in her life.

Born in Danzig (now Gdansk, Poland) in 1925, Elisabeth was the only daughter of Johanna Herrmann. She was loved like a sister by her aunts and uncles and was especially closest to her Aunt Adele. After WWII, she met Dietrich in the Southern German town of Biberach. Marrying in 1957, they took their journey together in 1959 across the ocean to Montreal with their young son, Michael. Then one final trip to settle in St. Louis, MO in 1960.

Dietrich and Elisabeth purchased a home in the Dogtown neighborhood in 1963, never realizing what a wonderful hidden gem they had found to raise their family. It was not unusual to spend much of their time visiting with neighbors on the front porch.

Elisabeth lived a wonderful fun-filled life devoted to her family. She and Dietrich always found time for family vacations and to travel to Germany, Argentina, Italy, much of Europe and most of the United States over the years.

With never a harsh word to anyone, Elisabeth never had reason to have any regrets in her life. She enjoyed every moment with family and friends whether it was dancing to the music or during her travels home and abroad. But the greatest joy for Elisabeth was to know her family was happy and healthy.

We miss you so and are comforted to know you no longer suffer. The greatest peace is knowing we were loved so much by you.

We wish to give thanks to everyone at Odyssey Hospice Care for their support during these last six weeks. Special thanks to Dr. Andrea Baxter for her thoughts and understanding.
