Fern Kloepper

Fern Lenore Kloepper (nee Tinkham), R.N., died peacefully in Hospice at St. Anthony’s Medical Center on Saturday,
Sept. 11th, 2010, surrounded by her family. She was born Nov. 6th, 1918 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Fern trained in nursing at Nebraska Methodist Hospital. She worked as a nurse for Dr. Clement Sullivan, then with the American Red Cross. She also served as a Cub Scout Den Mother and at Teen Town at Bayless High School.
She was a parishoner at Peace Lutheran Church since 1946, for 64 of the congregation’s 65-year history.

Wife of the late Henry Charles Kloepper, Jr., Fern is survived by her children: Daniel Charles (Krista) Kloepper, Nancy Ann (Raymond) DiPietro, Mary Jane Fleagle, and Ben Victor Kloepper, as well as by a sister, Norma Ann (Gene) Hoskinson, and her grandchildren: Derek Kloepper, Thomas Kloepper, Victoria Kloepper, Lisa (Jared) Zystro, Gina DiPietro, Will Fleagle and Jarrett Fleagle. She is also survived by her and Ben’s cats, Barney, Bico, and ’Mantha Pantha.

Fern made the gift of her body to the National Body Donor Program. Plans for a memorial observance are pending.
