James Geno
Geno, James E. 78, of Clayton, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2007, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital from complications following a fall. Jim was the beloved husband of Barbra Geno, father of Kimberly (Michael) Davidson of Fishers, IN, Jamie Geno of St. Louis, MO, Jason (Sharon) Geno of Washington, DC; doting grandfather to Olivia, Elise and Daniel; dear brother, neighbor and friend to many. Jim was born on January 5, 1929, in Florissant, MO. He served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a law enforcement officer and then was employed for many years at McDonnell-Douglas where he worked on the space shuttle program. Following his retirement from McDonnell-Douglas after 25 years of service, Jim began his true life’s work – assisting his wife Barbara in the creating Clayton Child Center and Clayton Academy. He was a volunteer ’Jack of All Trades’ who managed the design, construction and maintenance of the school facilities for many years. More recently, Jim ’embraced’ his retirement, spending several months each year in Marco Island, FL, where he pursued his passions for boating and sun worshiping. Jim was happiest spending time with family and friends. His adoring grandchildren will especially miss his quirky sense of humor.
