James George

James Joseph George of St. Louis passed away on Sunday, January 15th, at the age of 73, with his family lovingly by his side. He was the beloved husband of Beth Ann George (nee Dillard); cherished father and father-in-law of Renee (John) Nelms, Tara (Jabbo) Cillo and James Joseph George, Jr.; adored grandfather of Samantha, Anthony, Jack, Ian and Joey; dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend. Jim touched the lives of many, all of whom would attest to his limitless generosity and his wonderful sense of humor. He was never without something clever to say and could always be counted on to bring out smiles wherever he was. No matter what the circumstance, Jim’s positivity and inner light would shine through, leaving all in his presence better than before.   He was constant and reliable, with unwavering devotion to his family. Jim’s generosity and thoughtfulness extended without hesitation to all.  He was an extraordinary man who will be desperately missed.
His family would like to thank his caregivers in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at St. Anthony’s Medical Center for their exceptional kindness and care during the most difficult four days of their lives.
A private memorial will be held on Friday for the immediate family.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Jim’s honor to the American Lung Association or the Humane Society of Missouri.
