James Osborne Sherrell Jr. (Jimmy) was born January 28, 1936 to the union of James and Tina Sherrell, which preceded him in death. He also had a sister Juanita Anderson to precede him in death.

James graduated from Sumner High School, and later enlisted in the United States Air Force; after his honorable discharge he moved to San Francisco, California. He became a Minster with the Science if the Minds Church, and practiced yoga
James enjoyed classical and contemporary music. He played the piano at the Gaslight Square and several other venues throughout the St. Louis Area. James showed his family great love, generosity and strength that will always be memorable.

James leaves to mourn three sisters: Imogene Jackson of STL, MO, Lois Jones Allen of Compton, California, and Mary (Lutell) Swope of Madison IL. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him dearly, also a special friend Mrs. Rita Fair
