Kathleen Kroen

Kathleen Diehl Kroen, 57, died Monday, March 8th, 2011 at St. Anthony’s de Greeff Hospice House after a brief battle with brain cancer. A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 12th, at St. Thomas/Holy Spirit Lutheran Church at 11 o’clock, 3980 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis (Sunset Hills), MO 63127.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 33 years, Kris Kroen; her daughter Kelly Fischer (Mick) of Dittmer, MO; and son, Kevin Kroen of Kansas City, KS; brother, Rick Diehl (Carol) of Greensboro, NC; and sisters-in-law Dana Weiler and Donna Tegethoff of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren Ben and Emily Fischer, nieces Joanna, Kristen and Shannon; and nephews Kenny, Kristopher, Travis and Jason.  Kathy was predeceased by her parents Charlotte and Erle Diehl of Greensboro, NC.
Kathy was born in Alliance, OH and lived in Monroeville, PA before marrying Kris and moving to Denver, CO and later settling in St. Louis. Kathy worked for the Northwest R-1 School District for 19 years as a Para-educator with High Ridge Elementary. Kathy loved children as reflected in professional life in elementary education. But one of the greatest joys in her life was being Nana to her grandchildren, Ben and Emily. 
The family is especially grateful for the loving care provided for Kathy by Dr. Jason Felton and the staff of St. Anthony’s Neuro-ICU.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kathy’s memory to St. Anthony’s de Greeff Hospice House, 10024 Kennerly Rd., St. Louis, MO, 63128.

    I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I had been looking forward to this summers class reunion hoping to see some old school friends.We all surely remember Kathy very fondly. Rest in sweet peace Kathy.

    Just want to express my deepest sympathy to Kathy’s family and all those close to her. I haven’t been in contact with Kathy for a lot of years, but you never forget the good friends and good people in your life. Kathy was one of them. May God Bless and Keep You Strong.
