Lisa Bruning

Lisa Christine Bruning (Harmon) of Japan, Missouri, entered into this world as
the youngest child of Walter J. Harmon, Jr., and Isabelle M. Harmon (Naro) on the
evening of July 24, 1964 in Kirkwood, Missouri. Lisa was christened into God’s fold on
August 16, 1964 at Immaculate Conception Church in Arnold. Missouri. There she would
live to love and grow in the Lord until 1973, when she was moved with her family to
Leasburg, Missouri. She attended schools in the Bourbon district.

As an adult, Lisa accepted the gift of Christ’s sacrifice with its promise of eternal
salvation. She made the conscientious decision to be baptized again on August 4th, 1996
at Fellowship Baptist Church in Ridgetop, TN.

Lisa loved the Lord. She loved her extended family. She loved her friends. To her,
the word ’stranger’ had no meaning, for her heart was enormous.

Lisa reveled in the out-of-doors and in caring for all of God’s creatures. She was
particularly fond of birds. If you knew her at all, then you already know she was the
"Chicken Whisperer." Lisa was also born with two green thumbs. Equipped with these
and her "Dr. Doolittle" ways, she graced her home with flora and fauna both within and
without. Although she was a tireless homemaker, she would throw down at a moment’s
notice to go fishing. She was a passionate chef and a disgruntled archeologist. You could
not stand between her and her St. Louis Cardinals.

Ever the free spirit, Lisa struck out on her own at an early age. She settled first in
Enid, OK, moved on briefly to Texas but established herself in her permanent 2nd
home in anf around Nashville, TN. There she grew deep roots.

Lisa was first joined in marriage to Kenny Bloodworth, and to this union was
bless d daughters Rachel Ann and Lauren Marie. Later, Lisa would bear her only son
Jaco Hunter Bloodworth. Although her marriage to Kenny would not last, love still
remamed and an amicable relationship with him continued throughout her life.

Eventually, Lisa would return to her Leasburg home where God was calling her.
Acco ding to His perfect plan, He had prepared someone especially for her.

On February 12th,2000, Lisa was joined in holy matrimony to David Paul
Brunmg. Their loving life together was full and truly blessed. For Lisa, all ofthe
disjointed pieces of her life finally fell into place. She had at last found her soulmate.

Lisa slipped free from the shackles of this life on December 23rd, 2011, when she
was gently carried by angels to her eternal home. Her peaceful passing was from
Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri, after a brief but gallant struggle
with her lifelong nemesis – asthma.

Naro (Pino,) Mother-in-Law Marcie L. Bruning (Schaefer,) Father-in-Law Lawrence E.

Even though we have so many joyful memories of Lisa as we knew her, not all of
the paths of her life ran through green pastures. Lisa had dark days in that she was a
victim of domestic violence. Not everyone in her situation escapes. Her strength and
tenacity was awesome, but she bore permanent physical and emotional scars. For the sake
of others, please educate yourself in the matter by taking a few minutes of your time to
read the brilliant essay "20 Reasons Why She Stays: A guide to those who want to help
battered women," by Susan G. S. McGee. You can view or download this document at
