Mary John, age 72, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2009 after a three year battle with breast cancer. She was born on January 10, 1937 in St. Louis to the late William and Rosie Syron. Mary lived in Kirkwood for the past 50 years and was a long time (28 years) mathematics teacher at John F. Kennedy High School in Manchester, MO. She is preceded in death by her husband James John and her brothers William and Joseph Syron. Mary is survived by: her dear sister Barbara (Syron) McSwain of Hallsville, MO; her sisters-in-law Nancy Syron of Marshall MO and Debbie Syron of Fenton, MO; her four sons and their wives Pete and Bess John of Centerville, OH, Paul and Maura John of Austin, TX, Pat and Karen John of Sagamore Hills, OH, and Nick and Chris John of St. Louis, MO. The greatest joy in life for Mary was her twelve grandchildren: Terry, Catie, Grace, Kevin, Michelle, Rosie, Augie, Maddy, Brigid, Louie, Mia, and Liam John.
