Melvin Brown

In Loving Memory…

June 30 1950 Melvin Eugene Brown was born to the union of Valena and Reuben Brown, Sr., in St. Louis, Mo. He was the fourth of 12 children.

Melvin was a spiritual and fun loving child who remained the same into adulthood. His dedication to his family and the Lord made him the brother, uncle, son, cousin and friend we all grew to know and love. Melvin graduated from Sumner High School in 1968 and went on to live in California before venturing back to St. Louis where he lived out the rest of his days. Melvin leaned towards his nieces and nephews with his advice, wisdom and his construction/rehab/chef secrets.

He was preceded in death by his father, Reuben Brown, Sr.; his mother Valena Brown; younger sister Marian Brown; and great niece, Lakeisha Cunningham. He leaves to cherish his memory 9 siblings: Thelma Pines, Marvin Brown, Pamela Shumpert, Regina Brown, LaDonna (Orlando) Collins, Linda (Donato, Sr.) Orpilla, Myrtle Sharp, Charlotte (Corey Gamble and Reuben Brown Jr.; 22 nieces and nephews; 31 great nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
