Samuel A. Monica, Sr. fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church, Sept. 8, 2010. Beloved father of Zita A. Monica, Samuel [Kathleen] Monica, Jr., Matthew [Deb] Monica, Jennifer Monica, Mary Joseph [Philip] Jilka, Jacinta Monica, Michelle [Keith] Goewert, Anthony [Sandra Dooling] Monica; Loving Grandfather of 13, and soon to be Great-Grandfather. Our dear uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and friend to many.
Visitation on Monday, September 13, 2010, 9:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3500 St. Luke Lane, St. Ann, MO 63074 with Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Masses preferred.
Our fondest memories of Sam are, of course, with Zita and his kids, who were his life. The Monica family taught us a lot about how to love a big family. Our prayers are with all the Monicas as you grieve. We know Sam does not need the prayers and is already in the loving embrace of God.
What a beautiful, strong, courageous man! What a fabulous job he did with raising the kids and family that he did. What wonderful adults did he turn out into this world that we, personally are so proud to call dear friends of our’s. How proud I could see in his eyes; of you kids that he was; when I saw the few of you together a few months ago (not to often an Italian’s eyes are that soft-ha). And also for how well you all took care of him and eachother through this, your dad is also very proud. How peaceful, because of you kids and with God’s help and love your dad’s journey was. You will feel his Thank You’s in so many ways throughout the rest of your lives.
