“A Girl Named Alana”

I know a girl named Alana. Alana in Latin means beautiful. Alana is seven years old. She has shoulder length blondish-brown hair, green eyes and wears pink glasses. Alana weighs fifty pounds and stands about four feet tall.

Alana is in the first grade at Holy Innocence School. She loves school very much and she likes to learn about God at school also. Her favorite subjects include reading and art. She likes to read and always has something to say about a book she has read.

Some of Alana’s favorite pastimes include playing with her Barbie dolls and mastering her Super Nintendo games. Alana loves all animals, but cats rank number one. She just saw the movie Homeward Bound, which she absolutely adored because of the cat in the movie. She collects pictures, books and figurines of various cats.

A tomboy best describes Alana, for she doesn’t like to fuss over her hair and clothes. She likes to be herself, even though every now and then she does like to dress up for church or a special occasion. She feels her best when she can wear loose clothing and run around without her socks and shoes.

Alana loves the color pink. She has pink clothes, pink coats, and pink stuffed animals. When she goes to buy something, usually pink is her first choice.

Alana is somewhat shy, but easily gets over it when she’s around other children. She likes to use her imagination to create fictional stories and plays. Recently she made up a play titled ‘Magical Trolls’ in which she sings and dances.

Like many other children, Alana likes cake, candy and ice cream, although she also enjoys other healthy foods such as spinach, tomatoes and brussel sprouts. She also likes fruit, though her favorite food is shrimp.

Playing outside on the swing and riding bikes are among the outside activities she enjoys when weather permits. She also plays with her dolls or talks to her friends on the phone.

Alana is interested in becoming a veterinarian or a zookeeper someday. Recently, she had career day at school and she dressed up as a veterinarian. Alana is young, bright, funny, and smart, not to mention beautiful. She is willing and eager to learn and she cares a lot about people and animals.

Before Alana came into my life, my life seemed empty. Alana has taught me how to laugh, how to cry, and how to be happy. We learn a lot from each other. The most wonderful thing I’ve learned from this little girl is love. Love between a mother and a daughter is a very precious thing.

Children are truly a gift from God and I know because of a girl named Alana.

I never met Alana, but I work with her grandmother, Paulette Morris, who often talked about her. I know that Alana was loved very much by her family, and she has left a void that can never be filled. My deepest condolences to her family for the loss they are suffering.

I knew a girl named Alana , we met back in junior high when she moved to the neighborhood. We instantly became friends. She was so full of life and we use to share clothes all the time and act like we were sisters. And just like some friendships we grew apart as are interest grew different. AsWe got older we would talk but never got to tell her that I was still that same person and that I was there for her . It breaks my heart that she was taken so soon and left behind 4 beautiful kids but now it is time for her to rest in peace and for those kids to know they are watching over her. There are no words to speak to make this pain go away for you and ur family.i will pray though that you may find peace and just trust in god that there was a reason. I love you Alana and my heart goes out to you, your kids and all of your family. By the way that was the sweetest poem I have every read. Just amazing

    ALANA,
I met you here in Jacksonville, fl. You and I became instant friends. Brooklyn was barely 4 months, and the world was starting to look brighter, I know there was a dark hole inside you. I had just talked to you. It’s like you knew what you were going to do. I wish every day that you were here. I will never meet anyone else like you. I truly LOVE YOU. I know your watching over your 4 babies, they are getting so big.
I hope where ever you are, I’ll be seeing you soon.
