Alex Mario Rodriguez, 44, of Chicago, Illinois, and most recently residing in Sangamon County, Illinois, passed away peacefully at Barnes Jewish Hospital on February 11, 2026, surrounded by love.

Alex was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend whose presence filled every room with strength, loyalty, and heart. He was the beloved husband of Sabrina Marie Rodriguez. Together they built a life centered on love, resilience, and family.

He was a proud and loving father to Alex Mario Rodriguez Jr., Alyssa Rodriguez, Mia Bargas, Daniel Bargas III, Allan Rodriguez, Julian Rodriguez, Aidan Rodriguez, and Analysa Rodriguez. His children were his greatest accomplishment and the center of his world.

Alex was the cherished son of Ricarda Medellin Rodriguez, Jose Rodriguez, and Cris and Mario Rios. He was a beloved brother to Alex Rios, Jessica Rodriguez, Joseph Rodriguez, William “JJ” Rios, Genie Rios, and Xavier Lozano. He was also a treasured nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Born and raised in Chicago, Alex carried the strength and grit of his city throughout his life. He was known for his protective nature, deep loyalty to family, and unwavering determination. Though his time here was far too short, his legacy lives on in the love he gave so freely.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Alex’s life — for his love, his strength, and the joy he brought to so many. Wrap Your arms around his wife, children, and family during this time of sorrow. Grant them comfort in their grief, peace in their hearts, and strength for the days ahead.

May Alex rest in eternal peace, free from pain and suffering. Let perpetual light shine upon him, and may his memory continue to guide and inspire those who love him.

Amen.
