Andrea Holman

LIFE JOURNEY

Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.
God knew Andrea needed uninterrupted rest, so He whispered in her ear on July 30, 2019 that her work here was completed and that He had prepared a new home for her.

Andrea (nee Hughley) – Holman, (aka – Mena), age 74, of St. Louis, Missouri died peacefully after her health declined at St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, Missouri, with her family by her side. Her passing reminds us that death is sure but life is uncertain.

Andrea received her early education in the public schools of St. Louis, Missouri and attended Howard High School. Andrea was a Public Health Nurse for various Nursing Facilities until her early retirement from Delmar Gardens. Andrea at an early age accepted Christ as a member of Lively Stone Church of God and Christ. In 2005 she rededicated her life to Christ under the leadership of the late Dr. Richard Burruss of Transformation Christian Church and World Outreach center.
From 1960 – 1973 Andrea was wed to Roosevelt Kimble. From that union two daughters and one son were born.
From 1975 – 1982 Andrea was wed to Arthur Lee Holman. From that union one son was born.

Andrea loved to dance, enjoyed listening to music and her other joy was cooking for her family and friends and anyone who came to visit. She was also known for her feisty, yet good sense of humor. She often repeated the quote: When I die, I’d like to come back as a bird, cause all we do is eat chicken? “I don’t want to be eaten, but just to fly high above in the sky.”

In reflecting back about this gently loving woman, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, , she treated everyone like family.

Preceding her in death her parents; Willie Lee Brown and Varena Hughley.
Andrea is survived by four children; Ruthann Perry, of St. Louis, MO., Anthony Kimble of St. Louis, MO, Sarita Kimble of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Andre Holman Sr. of St. Louis, MO., 3 Step Children, her step-mother Adrew Brown of Suisun, CA, one sister Linda Hughley of St. Louis, MO., and two half-sister’s Donna Benton of Washington, DC and Vicki Williams, of Suisun CA. 7 Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren. Andrea was also very special to Tebrica Ross, Gloria Baker, Amanda Russ, Durnisha Jackson, Miley Jackson,. Janice Stewart, Shyrese Jennings and a host of other relatives and a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous loving friends. .

Isaiah 41:13 For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

My sincere condolence to Andrea Holman’s family and friends. May you sense the Lord’s loving presence today and it keep you close to his heart assuring you of His tender care and covering you with his grace. Although I never met Andrea I do know she raised Sarita right. Life is always too short – tell your loved ones you love them daily. Sarita stay strong I’m just a phone call away. You were always there for me. With thoughts and Prayers – The Cooper Family.
