Ann Rayne died March 10 in St. Louis. Beloved wife of 61 years of the late John Rayne, mother of Susan (Michael Jarvis), Julie and Brian, grandmother of Nathan and Nicholas, sister of the late Jean Bathurst. Ann was born April 8, 1930 in Winnetka, Illinois, graduated from New Trier High School and the University of Wisconsin, following in the footsteps of her father, mother and sister. After graduate work at the University of Pittsburgh, Ann taught English and briefly worked for Westinghouse and Carnegie Mellon. Upon retirement, Ann loved her work as a docent at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, leading tours for school children. She also valued her experience as a CASA volunteer court advocate for abused and neglected children. Ann brought her gentle, kind and caring nature into all that she did and will be greatly missed by the family that she loved so much.
