It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to our dear friend and incredible colleague, Anthony.
Anthony, thank you for the laughter, the conversations, and the lifelong memories of your friendship. Thank you for being your true, wonderful self. You brought light and joy into every room with your smile and laughter — a gift we will carry with us always.
You will be truly missed, but your spirit will live on in our hearts.
Rest in love and peace, dear friend.

Anthony, this is a message we never imagined we’d have to write.
Rosey isn’t too happy with the new lawn guy, so we’ve kept the blinds closed until he’s finished. It’s those little moments, those small reminders, that make us realize just how deeply you’re missed.

Our cookouts, our New Year’s Eve parties, the laughter around the table — they’ll never feel quite the same without you. Your spirit filled every space you entered, and your kindness touched every heart around you.

Watch over all of your babies, Anthony. Keep sending us signs, and know that you’ll forever be a part of every memory we make. Fly high, our dear friend. You are so loved, and you always will be.

“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day.”

    With all our love,
    Chris and Marlene

Mr. Ashford thank you for all you do. When I first got to base you trained me and guided me and answered all my questions patiently, gave me advice when I really needed it. Weather I wanted to hear it or not. Thank you for everything and have a good rest. Save a spot for us in heaven. Till we meet again

To the Ashford Family, I want to send my deepest condolences. I had the pleasure of crossing paths with Anthony while we both worked on Scott AFB. Every time we met, our conversations were never about just saying “Hi and Bye.” He took the time to know people below the surface level. You can definitely tell he was as genuine as they come. I’ll always appreciate our talks and the advice he pushed my way. As you all celebrate and mourn the loss of Anthony, just know the seeds he planted with you and his colleagues here at Scott AFB will have a positive lasting impact. May you all be blessed and just know Anthony will be missed!

    Ashford family,

We mourn with you in your loss of Anthony. He kept our lawn beautifully manicured for several years and as recently as this month provided service to us. He was always cheerful, upbeat, and about his business. We’ve hired another company, but it’s just not the same. Thank you for sharing him with us. He is already being missed. Keeping all of you in our prayers and thoughts.

Mr. Ashford, you are missed dearly! You always were a listening ear, mentor, uncle figure, and much more! You had a HUGE positive impact on me. You helped me with many battles whether it was kind words, holding me accountable, etc. The stories we shared, laughs we had, and lessons learned from one another will always be close to my heart.

You will NEVER be forgotten and will ALWAYS be missed! Sending love and my deepest condolences to your family!

I will miss you dearly, cousin Anthony! Rest easy and fly high! Words just can’t express this sadness I’m feeling. You may be gone, but you will NEVER be forgotten. I will cherish our memories we had as family and will always remember the good times and talks we had. I will forever remember you as my NAVY Cuzzo Ant! REST IN PARADISE!

    My brother Anthony,
I’m so grateful to have shared this life with such an inspiring friend and brother. From our football days to our time in the Navy, and through all the years of true friendship — we built a bond that can’t be broken.
You always had my back, and I had yours. I’ll never forget the day we were talking when Virginia and I had just started dating, and you said, “Y’all are gonna get married.” And just like that — you spoke it into existence. You always had that kind of wisdom and vision.
Thank you for speaking life, leading with heart, and being such an important part of my journey.
May you rest in peace and continue to inspire on the other side.
Thank you for being part of my family. I love you, brother — until next time.

Although I have not been in contact with Anthony for some years, I remember him fondly from his high school years at McCluer North. As his chemistry teacher, I recall his conscientious efforts to do well in class, but he especially stood out due to his respectful demeanor and that infectious smile. He was a leader by example as a student, but also a leader on the gridiron. When his mother passed when he was in high school, I attended her service–Anthony had made such an impression on me that I wanted to pay tribute to her. I am deeply saddened that he has passed at such young age, but he obviously has left quite a legacy in his children and grandchildren. My deepest sympathy to his family.
