Arthur Lee Nelson
Arthur Lee Nelson Jr. was born April 21 , 1942, to the union of Annie Mae and Arthur
Nelson Sr., in Little Rock, Arkansas. During the depression his parents relocated to
Kinloch, Missouri. In 1960 his family moved to West St. Louis, Missouri. The family
attended St. Stephens Lutheran Church faithfully.
Arthur was a well round individual from owning several businesses with his father
(Nelson’s Maintenance and two A & A Resale Shops), working for PureX as a lead by
day, and DJ by night, better known as “Father Popcorn”. He also was a member of the
Missouri Road Dawgs (motorcycle group).
Arthur loved spending time with his family and friends on outings, taking fishing trips,
hunting, and hosting block parties for his parents. He was always willing to help his neighbors &
friends in need of minor repairs of TVs, lawnmowers, washers & dryers.On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, Arthur Lee Nelson Jr. transitioned to a better place
where there’s no more hurt or pain, only the love and joy of seeing those that preceded him
in death; His father Arthur Sr., his mother Annie Mae, father-in-law Sim Jordan,
mother-in-law Earnestine Jordan; five siblings, Robert, Berta, Charles, Brenda & Larry;
and two children Arthur III, & Valencia. He leaves to cherish his memories, a wife
Emma L Nelson; eleven children; Edward (Mae), Jenny, Yvonne, Rochelle, Michael,
Theresa (Lamont), Jerome, Anthony, Natasha, Arthur IV, & Cameisha; thirty-four
grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren; five siblings, Georgia, Ricky, Tony,
LeeTanya (Ken Miller), & Derrel; three brothers-in-law, Willie Hunter & Ronald Wilhite
of St. Louis, MO & John Jordan of Arkansas; three sisters-in-law, Rosie (Al Staples),
Lois Jordan, & Linda (David Palmer) of Arkansas; two Aunts, Lee Ester Lott & Gracie
Allen of Nebraska; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
