Barbara Ann Mycek Fitzpatrick
Barbara Ann Mycek Fitzpatrick at 85, passed away peacefully on Sept 30, 2026, with her loving daughters by her side, as she transitioned into heaven.
Born on April 28, 1941 in Newton N.J. to Doris (Angel) and Edward Mycek. Barbara was the oldest and had 2 younger brothers, Edward Jr. and Richard.
In 1959 she graduated from Newton High School and married her high school sweetheart, Donald J. Fitzpatrick. They had 4 children: Donna, Darren, Kathy and Karen.
Barbara was predeceased by her ex- husband Donald, her son Darren, her daughter Karen, her parents and her brother Edward Jr.
Barbara appreciated raising her kids on the family farm in Lafayette, NJ. After her children left home, she became a policy typist for an insurance company for many years. Barbara cherished music, singing and dancing while in NJ.
In the spring of 2005, she moved to St Louis to be close to her daughter Kathy, where she began a life of laughter, smiles and joy. In 2020, Donna also re-located to St Louis to join in the family fun.
Over the years, Barbara enjoyed live stage productions at the Community Play House and the Fabulous Fox Theater. During the summers, she would be found attending her water aerobics, floating down the lazy river at the community pool, enjoying bar-b-que get togethers with relatives and listening to classical music. On Sundays, she looked forward going to her local church for services and to give Thanks. Barbara also loved traveling with her daughters, especially to visit her brother Ed in Palm Springs.
