Barbara Jean Zurkuhlen Wofford

Barbara Jean “Jeanie” Zurkuhlen Wofford was a caring wife, aunt, sister and friend. She left this world suddenly in her home on Wednesday May 26, 2021 at the age of 74.

Jeanie was born in Granite City IL on Feb 8th, 1974 to Arno and Shirley Zurkuhlen. She was baptized on Dec 18th, 1966.

She moved to St Louis in the early 70’s. She lived with her husband Neil in Chesterfield MO.

After graduating from high school, Jeanie chased her dreams and completed beauty school in 1965. Jeanie was a well-known hairdresser in the Ladue, Frontenac area for over 50 years and continued to serve her loyal clients at Nicole’s of Ladue up to the day before her passing.

She was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing golf with her friends and lounging on her boat. In the summertime she spent her weekends with family and friends at the Lake of the Ozarks in the water or on the golf course. She loved a quiet evening on the deck with family and friends with a glass of wine or margarita in hand watching the boats drive by.

Jeanie adored her animals so much that it was often said by her friends if reincarnation existed they would hope to be her pet. She is survived by her constant companion Doxie “Solow”,and her two parrots Reeko and Chi-Chi.

Her cheerful attitude and bright smile will be missed by those that loved her.

She is survived by her husband Neil Wofford, her sister Linda and husband Randy Pohlmann, her sister in law Janet Wofford

Nephew, Jayson, fiance Jen O’Connor, niece -Tanya husband Frankie Hagood, her son Matthew and wife Kerry Wofford, Daughter Kelly Hart, her grandchildren Ben, Bridget, Tiffany and Dalton, Great Nephews Sidney, Jacob, Andrew, Tyler, Riley and Cole and Riley.

Contributions in memory of Jeanie can be made to your favorite Charity in lieu of Flowers.

A Celebration of Life will be held June 12th at St Louis Cremation 320 Jungermann Road, St Peters, MO. 63376 2pm -4pm

    Jeannie was an angel among us – with a heart of gold – that would do anything for anyone. She will be greatly missed on this Earth but, Jeannie, we’ll see you again in the next life.
