Barbara Joan Morris

Barbara Joan Morris was given last rites, and died on July 16, 2022. She was surrounded by her sisters, MaryAnne and Pat, and her sister-in-law, Denise.  Barbara was born April 13, 1957, in St. Louis, to Joseph Francis Morris and Mary Theresa (Hill) Morris, who predeceased her.  Barbara enjoyed most of her adult life in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and she loved it.  She was one of the best at her high school basketball team, could solve any complex math problem, and was especially good at being an aunt.  She loved that some of her nieces and nephews joined her in Cape Girardeau when they went to college.  Barbara never knew a stranger, and was the funniest, most generous person on earth.

She is survived by her siblings Joseph Morris Jr; Richard (Dick) Morris; MaryAnne (Morris) Banks; Patricia (Morris, husband Michael Bell) Bell; and James (Jimmy) Morris.  Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings William (Bill, wife Sandy) Morris; Robert (Bobby, wife Denise Campbell); and Thomas (Tommy, wife Gretchen) Morris.

Barbara will be missed by all who knew her.

Services will be held at St. Louis Cremation, 2135 Chouteau Ave, St. Louis, MO 63103, Thursday, July 21, 3:oo pm – 5:00 pm.

Barb introduced me to Bingo at the VFW in Cape. I never forget when she won big, she paid the tab and went to Florida for a Vacation. Loved that ! She gave me such great advice on so many things. I learned from her laundry can be done in the middle of night and one can go right back to sleep, I still do that . RIP Barb Morris you were one of the best.

If you heard Aunt Barb’s signature, “Knock, Knock!” as she entered through the garage door, you knew you were getting some trinkets from the gas station, lotto scratch offs, and a fun time. And she would also help you when you really needed it. One time she took care of me when I was really sick. There was nothing to do but let this nauseous, feverish chubby little kid ride it out, but she didn’t leave me to go to catch some sleep herself. Instead she stayed up all night with me just because I felt better while she was there. I will miss her so much.

As you grieve, know we’re remembering you and honoring the memory of Barbara. May her memory be a blessing. May you take comfort in knowing a guardian angel is watching over you all, just knock, knock, knocking from heavens door now. MAB, we love you. BIG HUGS!

Barb was a good friend at ND and we all loved her sense of humor. And I hope none of our past teachers sees this…. But Barb took at least one of my math tests for me!! Loved her math brain!! RIP Barb.
