Barbara L. Morris (Hobein)
Our dear mother, Barbara Morris passed away peacefully surrounded by her children at her side on Monday, May 29, 2023.
The Friday of Memorial weekend Mom was able to come home from the hospital to be with her family in her daughter’s home, which truly was a blessing. She was surrounded with love from her children, grandchildren and their spouses, great-grandchildren, her brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends. Mom always loved to gather with her family and friends, it meant the world to her. With her kind heart she would always welcome you into her home, usually to offer you a meal and she never took no for an answer. Our mother was truly the meaning of “family” and instilled that in all our hearts. Family gatherings were a tradition for the Hobein’s with fond memories of them playing cards, playing the ukulele and everyone singing. We will miss her dearly and cherish all the memories of the time we spent with her.
Mom (Barb) is now at peace with her beloved husband, “Chub” (Clyde), and many others that preceded her in death; parents, Edward and Luella Hobein; dear sisters Shirley Karniski and Lois LoPiccolo; and her brothers, Ed, Larry, and Bill Hobein
She was the loving mother to her children, Steve Morris, Glen (Julie) Morris, Jim (Kathi) Morris, Julie (Ivan) Diedrich, Deborah Heacock; cherished grandmother to Jason (Ike) Morris, Jeff Morris, Sarah (Doug) Drezek, Jessie (Justin) Falter, Charlie (Emily) Morris, Megan Morris, Erin Morris, Kelsey (Alex) Hemby, Kaylee (Nick) O’Connor, Vince (Mady) Heacock and Logan (Joe) Dandridge; cherished great-grandmother of 13; loving sister to Jack (Marilyn) Hobein and Bob (Kathy) Hobein; daughters-in law, sons-in-law, cousins, friends, and a dear aunt to many.

Grama Barb was so much to me. Most importantly she taught me to be loving and kind and by her example to be a loving mother. I will always cherish the memories with her. She loved all her grandchildren and taught many more things than playing cards and cooking…like honesty, kindness, generosity and dedication to family. She was a strong believer that one should work hard and I believe that rubbed off on most all of us who were close to her. She also enjoyed having fun which usually involved her cooking but she enjoyed cooking and playing cards at the same time and she never missed a beat. Parties at the Morris’s meant 2 things lots of food and fun because of her. And sometimes if you were lucky mom would get out the ukulele and the show would begin. So many more things I could say, she was so special to me. Stepping in to guide me at such a young age she really helped shape me into the person I am today. I’m forever grateful for her presence in my life ❤️ My prayers for the family to find peace and comfort with all your wonderful memories. Rest in peace Grama Barb. Love you
What a beautiful celebration of Barb’s life. I know she was looking down from heaven with a smile from ear to ear and a heart full of happiness watching all those who loved her celebrate her life. Barb thank you for welcoming me and Joe on day one into your wonderful family❤️. I will miss you ❤️
