Barbara Lee (Strunk) Hollis

Barbara Lee Hollis, née Strunk, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026. Born on December 2, 1945, Barbara lived a life defined by devotion to her family, quiet strength, and a warm, generous heart.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Strunk; her father, Henry Strunk; and her sister, Judith Odom.
Barbara is survived by her devoted husband, John Wayne Hollis Sr., and their children: Melissa Hollis, John Hollis Jr., Michael Hollis, Jennifer (Hollis) Moen, and Gregory Hollis. She was a loving grandmother and great‑grandmother who took immense pride in each member of her growing family.
Barbara found joy in life’s simple, peaceful moments. She loved watching birds, often pausing to admire their colors and songs, and she carried a lifelong affection for pigs — a small delight that brought her and those around her many smiles.
She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace, embraced in the loving arms of God and free from pain.
Her legacy lives on in the memories she created, the love she shared, and the family she nurtured with unwavering care.
Mom, I hope you can feel now what I never said enough in this life—how deeply I love you, how much you meant to me, and how grateful I am for every moment we had. I will carry you with me in everything I do, and I love you more than I was ever able to show.
