Beatrice “Bea” Siegfried

Beatrice (“Bea”) Ann Holt Siegfried, 89, died of congestive heart failure on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Delmar Gardens of Chesterfield, in Chesterfield Missouri. Her memorial service, followed by a fellowship supper, was held August 27, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kirkwood, Missouri.

Bea was born May 17, 1927 to Gunder Holt and Alice Margaret Boklep Holt on their farm in Redwood County, Minnesota. Gunder was very excited that his first child was born on “syttende mai” (17th May), Norway’s Constitution Day. Bea attended a one-room school house through eighth grade, graduated from Belview High School, and earned a B.A. and Teaching Certificate in Biology and Chemistry from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. She married Marvin Frederick Siegfried on June 12, 1948, and they raised three daughters in Crystal, Minnesota. She was active in P.T.A. and lead several Camp Fire Girls troops. Bea was a very talented seamstress and taught neighbors, friends and her daughters to sew. She was active at Faith Lilac Way Lutheran Church in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. Bea and Marv enjoyed playing bridge, planning and attending their dance club, and held square dance practices in the family basement. Many happy years were spent at their lake cabin near Brainerd, Minnesota. After Marv’s retirement they lived in Donna, Texas and more recently, Creve Coeur, Missouri.

Bea is survived by her husband, Marvin; daughters Cindy (Don) Diemert, Jill (Bill) Schmitke and Jean (Steve) Tyler; brother, Glenn Holt; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dorothy, brothers James and David, and greatgrandchild, Rebecca.

Dear Marv Siegfried and family, I am so sorry to hear about Bea’s passing and your loss. Marv and Bea were Insurance Clients of mine in MN for about 23 years. It was always a pleasure to communicate with you both. Such a great, easy going spirit and good sense of humor. God bless you and your family in this difficult time. Sincerely, David E. Story.

I would like to extend my condolences to the family from all of my family. I only just found this announcement. While we have never met, I believe we may be related.
