Bernard Gissy
Bernard “Bernie” James Gissy, age 86, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026. He was born in St. Louis on August 21, 1939.
Bernie spent his entire life devoted to his family. He was incredibly proud of his 35 years as a Journeyman Brewer at Anheuser-Busch and honored to serve as President of Teamsters Local 6. Witty, clever, and charming, Bernie never met a stranger and was truly loved by everyone who crossed his path. Above all, he was immensely proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In his own words:
“I want the memory of me to be a happy one, and for smiles to remain when my life is done. I hope to leave behind sunny days and no tears as the sun goes down — just a Bud Light or two before the day is done.”
