Bernard Schindler

Bernard “Bernie” Edward Schindler III, at age 75 traveled to heaven on Sunday, January 21, 2018. He was born on Wednesday, July 22, 1942 in St Louis, Missouri.
Bernie the son of Bernard E. Schindler Jr. and Clara Ruth Schindler (Snyder) and the first of five children was born and raised in Riverview.
He attended Riverview Gardens High School and began college at University of Missouri. He served 4 years in the United States Navy.
Bernie played minor league baseball in Florida for the St. Petersburg Cardinals.
He married Linda Brainerd and had two children.
Bernie loved his job, fishing, playing cards, watching and listening to ball games, coaching baseball and football, having fun and his family.
Bernie leaves behind his son Barclay Schindler and his wife Casie Schindler. His brother Gilbert Schindler and his wife Rita Schindler, sister Ruth Ann “Tootie” Gardocki and her husband Pat Gardocki, brother Raymond Schindler and his wife Janis Schindler, and brother David Schindler. Bernie also loved his grandchildren Justin Keller, Alexis Keller, Brady Schindler and Charlie Schindler. He leaves behind many other family members that he loved.
Bernie was also preceded by his daughter Valerie Schindler.
There will be a Celebration of Life event held in Ballroom A from 3PM-9PM on Saturday, January 27th at:
Lake St Louis Community Association Clubhouse
Casual comfortable clothing is requested as this is how Bernie would have wanted.
There will also be a memorial service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Monday at 11 AM.We will meet behind the administration building in the parking lot at 10:30 AM.
