
Betty Ann Zimmerman
May 29th,1954 – June 7th, 2025
Betty left our presence on June 7, 2025, at the age of 94. She was born on August 11, 1930 in St. Louis, Mo. and was the only child of Nicholas Charles Stewart and Leota May (nee Stolz) Stewart. Betty was united in marriage to Richard Eugene Zimmerman on May 29, 1954.
Beloved wife of Richard Eugene Zimmerman, who predeceased her; Mother of Nancy Lynne Bradley (John Paul Bradley), David Scott Zimmerman and Brian Jon Zimmerman; Grandmother of Kevin Richard Zimmerman, Keith Anthony Zimmerman (Jessica Sue Hoke), Leah Nicole Townsend (Adam Carl Townsend), and John Thomas (J.T.) Bradley (fiance – Elizabeth (Liz) Dries) Betty was also an honorary Grandmother to Karie Thompson, an OT, who helped take care of Betty for many years; Great Grandmother of Brooklyn Rose Zimmerman, Tristin Lee Short, Nicholas Bradley Townsend, and Callen Adam Townsend. She was a much loved cousin and a wonderful friend to many.
Betty was a wonderful artist in her youth. She was also a very talented piano player and her parents bought her a baby grand piano. She was very proud of a 78 rpm record that she recorded of her playing Clair de Lune and on the other side, In a Monastery Garden. Betty graduated from Laboure High School and went on to graduate from Miss Hickey’s Training School For Secretaries. Betty loved horseback riding with her Daddy and traveling with both of her parents. Betty and Richard both loved Square Dancing, and danced for a good part of their married life. Betty and Richard were both very active members of their church and loved their church family.
Betty will be interred with her husband, Richard, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on June 27, 2025 at 11:00AM
According to Betty’s wishes, there will be a memorial service at Hillside Presbyterian Church on June 27, 2025 at 1:00PM, following the interment service.
