Betty Frances Sphar

It is with our deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Betty Frances Witthaus Sphar at age 76 at her home in Kirkwood Missouri on November 27th 2023.

Betty was born in 1947 in St. Louis Missouri to Robert and Elizabeth Witthaus, along with siblings, Jean Witthaus, John Witthaus, and Barbara WitthausMeyer. She received a bachelor’s degree from Lindenwood College before beginning her career in marketing at the May company, DIMAC direct, and Kirkwood United Methodist Church. After retirement, she continued to be active at her church and started working at the Kirkwood Theatre Guild, the passion project for her later in life.

Betty is preceded by her parents, siblings, and husband Tom Sphar. She is survived by her son Rob Sphar, daughter-in-law Rebecca, and grandchildren Anthony, Delilah, and Finnley Sphar.

A Funeral Service will be held at Kirkwood United Methodist Church on Monday, December 11th at 10:30AM, and is open to all.

    Rob, Rebecca and family,

    We are so sorry to hear of Betty’s passing. We knew her as “The Box Office Lady” for KTG. She always had a lovely smile and a kind word. We will miss her as well. May God’s Peace and comfort be with you.
