Bill went home to be with Jesus on July 30, 2012 at the age of 84.

Dear husband of Dolores (“Dee”); beloved father of Ron (Judy), Bill (Gerilyn) and Jim (Donna) York; stepfather of Allan (Libby), Kevin (Diana), Shawn (Lori) and Kris Dougherty and Lisa Stamulis; grandfather of 22 and great-grandfather of 7.

Bill was a proud veteran of the Navy and Coast Guard Auxillary, a self-employed businessman and a devout Christian who served the church as a board chairman, deacon, elder and usher. He loved to make things and was a skilled artisan and craftsman, working in wood and paint and all sorts of mediums. In his early years he was an avid boater and a frequent golfer. The family would like to thank the staff at Delmar Gardens on the Green for the loving care Bill received during the last 6 years.

Services: A celbration of Bill’s life featuring pictures and memorabilia, and Bill’s carvings, art and scrimshaw with refreshments and snacks will be held on Thursday evening, Aug. 9^th from 5-8:30 pm with a more formal funeral service on the morning of Friday, Aug. 10^th at 10:30am, both to be held at at First Evangelical Free Church, 1375 Carman Rd., Manchester 63021. A Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery burial service with full military honors will follow the church service on Friday.
