
Billy Darrell Humes
Billy Darrell Humes, “Darrell” to his friends and loved ones, entered into the presence of the Lord January 23rd, 2025. Darell is preceded in death by his father Mayford Humes, mother Bette Humes, and daughter Deandra Dwyer. He is survived by his loving wife Susan, sons Donald (Nicole) Dwyer and Derrick Dwyer, granddaughters Alexandria (Joshua) Harrison and Madison (Zachary Taylor) Dwyer, and great-granddaughters Charlotte Harrison and Baby Taylor. Along with being a friend to many, he was a loving brother-in-law, uncle and cousin.
Darrell graduated from Bishop DuBourg High School in 1969 in South St. Louis City where he spent the majority of his life as a resident. An avid reader, he frequented the public library. His love for beautiful things included gardening, playing the autoharp, and painting by trade. Whenever possible, he could be found at Willmore Park with his dogs enjoying the sunshine and birdsong. He enjoyed every minute spent with his family and was a beloved addition to any gathering.
Services to honor his memory will be held February 22nd, 2025 at Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 4924 Bancroft Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63109. Doors open at 9:30am for visitation with mass beginning at 10:30am. Loved ones are invited to a celebration of life immediately following services at Pietro’s, 3801 Watson Road, St. Louis, MO 63109.
