September 23rd, 1929 – June 16th, 2023

Payne, Bonnie Sue, passed away peacefully at Mari de Villa on Friday, June 16, 2023, at the age of 93.  Beloved wife of the late Charles R. (Bob) Payne, dear mother of the late Britton (Karin), Scott (Karen), Matthew (Kathy) and Trent (Lisa); adoring grandmother of Riley (Chelsea), Jason (Faira), Elliott, Tara (Richard), Holly, Ethan, Alex, Ryan, Brian (Niki) and Greg (Christina); cherished great-grandmother of Harper, Davis, Faye, Xavier, Liam and June; our dearest sister, aunt, great-aunt and good friend to many.  

Bonnie was born and raised in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas.  The best decision Bonnie ever made was to quit flying a crop dusting plane and attend the University of Arkansas where she met Bob, her husband of 71 years.  Bonnie graduated early from college and supported Bob while he finished his degree.  She provided a loving home for Bob and a growing family of four boys as he first pursued a career in the U.S. Army and later at Ralston Purina company, which involved many relocations.  Bonnie loved to play cards, cook, bake, and entertain friends and colleagues.  She had many close friendships through Ralston Purina that lasted throughout her lifetime.  Bonnie enjoyed her West County Assembly of God church family where she worshipped faithfully and volunteered for many years.  She was also active in Teen Challenge, preparing many meals over the years.  Bonnie was always smiling, and she kept a positive attitude throughout her lifetime. 

Service will be at West County Assembly of God Church, 13431 North Outer 40 Road, Chesterfield, MO 63017, on Friday, July 14, at 9:00 a.m.  Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Mari de Villa for the love and care given to their mother.
