After graduating from duQuoin High School (class of 1968), Bruce attended Ouachita University. Upon returning from his second tour, Bruce enrolled at McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois to pursue a degree in Psychology and Sociology. While there he joined a fraternity, Pi Lambda Tau, was a member of the student government and met the love of his life, Pam Zutter (Lima, Peru).
Bruce and Pam were married June 11, 1978 at McKendree University and moved to St. Peters, Missouri to start a new chapter in their lives. The marriage was blessed with their beloved son, Eric David Zutter Brock.
