Carl Robert Laws, Jr.

Carl Robert Laws, Jr., baptized into the hope of Christ’s resurrection on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the age of 80.

Beloved brother of Cheryl Laws and Karen (nee Laws) Martin, uncle of David (Jeannine) Martin, Nichole Martin and Kelly (nee Martin) (Tim) Davis, great uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

Carl was born 22 July 1944 to the late Carl Robert and Irene Evelyn (nee Enz) Laws Sr. He was preceded in death by his grandparents George W. and Emma Frances (nee LaChance) Laws and August and Margaretha (nee Lorenz) Enz and his aunts, uncles’ and many cousins.

Carl graduated from St. John Vianney High School in 1962, then attended St. Louis University.

He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues and the old St. Louis Stars soccer team.

Reading classic literature was one of his favorite pastimes. He also dabbled in photography throughout his life.

In 1967 he was drafted into the United States Army and was honorably discharged in May 1969.

Carl’s work career covered a variety of professions. He was an English teacher, photographer for church directories, in the hospitality field and also helped those with printing jobs at a large chain store. Carl was enjoying his retired life helping his family and friends.

At the end of Carl’s emails, he had these words of wisdom by Oscar Wilde:

“Life is too serious to take seriously.”

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your favorite charity.

Services:  Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on October 25, 2024 at 10:00am with military honors.

Please arrive between 9:30am and 9:45am.

    I am so sorry I just found out that Carl Laws passed away he was a friend of mine and he will be missed. I would work on his computer occasionally for him when he was unsure of something. He will be missed greatly my condolences to his family.
