Carl Whiting Cate, Jr.

 

Carl Whiting Cate Jr. left the bounds of this earth to be with his Lord Jesus Christ forever more. He passed on quietly in the early morning of November 28, 2012. Carl was born November 14th, 1927 in Manchester, New Hampshire to Freda and Carl W. Cate. Carl Jr. entered the Army Air Corps October 2, 1946. He worked as a draftsman and served in Alaska until he was honorably discharged as a corporal in the United States Air Force June 14, 1949. During his time in the Air Force, Carl saved all of his money and when on his first leave he bought his mother a brand new automatic washing machine. Carl worked at Fisher Body in Chicago as a Tool and Die man. He also worked at the Ford Motor Co. Plant in Chicago Heights, Illinois, and Caterpillar Tractor Company in Montgomery, Illinois. He always had a passion for his faith in Jesus Christ, and was an Ordained Southern Baptist Minister. Carl was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgia Lee Brownell Cate, his father, Carl Whiting Cate, his mother Freda Cate, his brother, Alvin Cate, and his brother, Myron Cate. He is survived by his second wife, Jo Ann Davis Cate of St. Charles, MO, son Daniel Cate and his wife Ranae of North Aurora, IL, his Daughter Carla Cate Neff of Akron, OH, his son Stephen Cate and wife Melia of St. Charles, MO, and his son Timothy Carl Cate of Spring, TX. Surviving grandchildren are Angelicque Cate of Elgin, IL, Bryan Cate of South Elgin, IL, Casparus Cate of Chicago, IL, Sarah Beth Neff of Akron, OH, Meagan Neff of Akron, OH, Hannah Cate of Spring, TX, Elise Cate of St. Charles, MO and great grandson Charlie Parsons of Akron, OH.

Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

 

Services: Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Friday, December 14 at 12:30 p.
