Carlene Byington
Carlene Byington of St Charles, Missouri passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026 at the age of 56. She was born on May 19, 1970 to Walt Swan Sr. and Althea Swan in Rapid City, South Dakota. After graduating from Central High School in South Dakota, she had a lengthy career at Commerce Bank as a quality assurance specialist in Missouri. She married Ralph Byington in 1990, and together they shared 36 wonderful years. Carlene Byington enjoyed spending time with her family and was known for her humor and laugh. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Byington, her children, Allen (Kaydi) Byington and kids, Adam (Brooke) Byington and kids, Adrian-Tre Byington, Alyssa (Eric) Byington, Her brothers, Walt (Lena) Swan Jr. and family, Ike Swan and family, and many more family.
A celebration of life will take place on May 19, 2027 in Rapid City, SD, where she will be returned home.
Oh my beautiful daughter in law Carlene such a bright light in today’s dark times you were so fun to be around especially at the casino, you gave me 4 amazing grandkids I will be forever grateful. I hope in heaven you keep rooting for the Chiefs and watching over all the family I love you Carlene until we meet again.

I have known carlen since middle school. We were very close during middle school. We were on the volleyball team together. We have talked off and on throughout the years. But when she moved to missouri, we lost our constant contact. She will be desperately missed, especially her laugh. I pray to god that ralph and their kids get through this with healthy thoughts.
I will forever smile when I think about Carlene.

I’m so sorry for your loss.
Carlene was the best coworker but most of all such an incredible human being, she’s one of the reasons I am alive today. I still remember that conversation we had over 9 years ago outside of work when I was at my lowest and felt like my world was ending.
Thank you all for sharing such an amazing women with an even amazing heart with all of us.
