Carol Bluestein
Carol Bluestein, 69, joined her loving husband, Terry Bluestein, on May 11, 2018. Carol was born on September 17, 1948 in St. Louis to the late Roger and Loretta (Abeln). She was proceeded in death by her brother, Don, and sister-in- law Susan. Carol is survived by her son, Mark (Amanda), daughter, Tracy (Matt) Hayward and her Aunt Elsie as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Carol was a devoted wife, mother and grandma to her grandchildren Morgan and Cali.
Carol spent her later years enjoying time with her loving family, traveling to many parts of the U.S including Tennessee, Texas, Michigan and her favorite destination New Smyrna Beach, Florida. When not traveling, Carol read countless novels, was an avid fan of Cardinals baseball and rarely missed her reality programs on HGTV and TLC. Carol devoted the rest of her time to the preservation and care of animals big and small, but as her memorial brick at the St. Louis Zoo reads:
“Carol Bluestein loved the Gorillas.”
In keeping with the wishes of Carol, there will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Carol’s name to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. For more information visit the Crohnscolitisfoundation.org

Thank you for watching over us all while you were here, as well as your continued care from Heaven. Enjoy your new time with Terry and save some time for when we all meet again. Love you. My cousin Carol was the link to our Aunt Elsie, now 106, especially after her dad Roger died. Roger and Elsie traveled everywhere together over more than twenty years. When Roger was dying in 2006, Carol promised him that she would look after Aunt Elsie, and then Carol spent a good part of the next twelve years doing exactly that. Carol was truly outstanding, and among all our extended family Carol is the one I admire most. I miss her tremendously.
grandma I’m always thinking of you I miss you but your in a better place now with grandpa I just wanna say I love ya see you soon grandma
My cousin Carol was tremendously loving and caring. Above all others in the extended Abeln family I held her in the highest respect and admiration. Carol’s dad Roger, who was my dad Bud’s brother, was a constant travel companion and best friend to their sister Elsie, who is still alive and vital at the age of 106. For more than twenty years, after each of their spouses had passed on, Roger and Elsie traveled the world together. When Roger was dying in 2006, Carol promised her dad Roger that she would look after Elsie in his place, and for the next twelve years Carol did exactly that. Carol was truly wonderful. I miss her so much.
Carol I got to know you through my daughter Chastine who is a best friend of Tracey. You were a wonderful women very open and heart felt. God gained a new Angel
My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Carol A. Bluestein. May you find comfort in God’s promises:
That comfort will come,
That peace will be restored,
That tears will eventually cease.
